Why "when is everyone free?" never works
You ask the group chat for a date. Three people answer, two answer with a different week, one says "any day works" and then can't make the day you pick. A week later the plan is still a plan.
The problem is not your friends. A chat thread is a terrible place to compare five calendars. What you need is a single place where everyone marks the times they can make, and something that counts the answers for you.
How to plan it in under a minute
Open SlotTogether and give the plan a name, like "Dinner before Jake moves" or "Saturday hike". Pick two to five possible days and tap the hours that could work — evenings for dinner, mornings for brunch.
Copy the invite link and paste it in the group chat. Your friends open it, type their name and tap "works" or "if need be" on each slot. Nobody installs an app or creates an account.
Open your results link and the best time is on top, with the names of who can and can't make it. Tap "Copy summary" and paste the decision straight back into the chat.
Tips
- ✅ Offer fewer options. Three to five slots get faster answers than twenty.
- ✅ Use "if need be" honestly — it breaks ties without forcing anyone to commit.
- ✅ Set the number of people you expect, so the results page tells you who is still missing.
- ✅ Send the summary back to the chat as soon as the best time is clear, before plans drift.
